Photovoltaics (PV)
PV Mounting Systems for Every Roof Type
A photovoltaic mounting system, also referred to as solar racking or PV substructure, is the structural framework that secures solar panels to a building or ground surface. The quality of the mounting system directly determines the longevity, safety and performance of any solar installation. At ULAMEX, every component is engineered from corrosion-resistant materials — primarily aluminium alloy EN AW-6060 T6 for profiles and clamps, and V2A stainless steel (1.4301/304) for roof handles and load-bearing fasteners.
Our PV mounting components are designed for compatibility with all current panel formats, including large-format modules (400W, 500W+) and bifacial panels, in both portrait and landscape orientation. Whether you are outfitting a pitched tile roof in Germany, a flat membrane roof on an industrial hall, or a ground-mounted solar farm, ULAMEX has the components to build a structurally sound mounting system that withstands wind loads, snow loads and thermal cycling for 25+ years.
All mounting components are manufactured according to European standards and carry CE marking. We supply installers, EPC contractors and solar distributors across Europe with competitively priced wholesale quantities — with no minimum order on standard items and volume pricing on pallet orders.
Pitched Roof (Tile, Slate, Shingle)
roof handles anchor the mounting system to rafters beneath the roof covering. Rails are fixed to the hooks, and panels are secured with mid and end clamps. Suitable for residential, commercial and industrial buildings with inclined roofs.
Flat Roof (Membrane, Bitumen, Concrete)
Ballast brackets or tilt triangles provide the support structure without penetrating the roof membrane. East-west and south-facing configurations available. Ideal for industrial halls, warehouses and commercial flat-roof buildings.
Ground-Mounted Arrays
Aluminium profiles and steel foundations form the substructure for ground-mounted solar farms. Adjustable tilt angles, optimised for local irradiation data.
Carport and Canopy Structures
PV profiles integrate into aluminium carport frames to create dual-purpose structures providing shelter and solar energy generation.

Frequently Asked Questions
What solar mounting system components does ULAMEX offer?
ULAMEX supplies a complete PV mounting system range including aluminium mounting rails (PV profiles), middle clamps and end clamps, stainless steel roof handles for various tile types, ballast brackets for flat roofs, tilt triangles and all necessary fasteners (T-bolts, hanger bolts, sliding nuts, connectors, earthing components).
What roof types are your mounting systems compatible with?
Our systems cover all common European roof types: pitched roofs with concrete tiles (Frankfurter Pfanne), plain tiles (Biberschwanz), S-tiles, slate, and trapezoidal sheet metal. For flat roofs, we supply non-penetrating ballast systems and tilt triangles. We also supply components for ground-mount and carport installations.
What material are the PV profiles made of?
Our PV mounting rails are extruded from aluminium alloy EN AW-6060 T6 (for standard profiles) or EN AW-6060 T6 (for high-load profiles). This alloy offers an excellent combination of structural strength, corrosion resistance and low weight — ideal for long-term outdoor exposure.
Are your PV components CE certified?
Yes. All structural mounting components are CE marked and manufactured in compliance with European standards. ULAMEX holds EN 1090 certification for structural steel and aluminium components.
What panel sizes are compatible with your clamps?
Our middle clamps and end clamps are available in heights from 30 mm to 50 mm, covering all standard panel frame thicknesses. This includes current large-format modules (400W, 500W+) and bifacial panels from all major manufacturers.
Does ULAMEX offer ballast systems for flat roofs?
Yes. We supply aluminium and galvanized Magnelis ballast brackets for non-penetrating flat roof installations. Both Z-type and standard brackets are available for south-facing and east-west mounting configurations.
How do I calculate the number of roof handles needed?
As a rule of thumb, 4 roof handles are required per module in standard wind zones. In high-wind areas, this may increase to 6. The exact quantity depends on module size, wind and snow load calculations per Eurocode EN 1991. Contact our team for project-specific recommendations.
Does ULAMEX deliver PV components across Europe?
Yes. We deliver from our warehouse in Poland to all EU countries. Standard items are available from stock. For large project orders, we offer competitive volume pricing and dedicated logistics. Request a quote with your project specifications.
