Stainless Steel Pipes
Stainless Steel Pipes and Tubes for Industry, Construction and Architecture
Stainless steel pipes are among the most demanded products in our stainless steel range. Their corrosion resistance, hygienic surface quality and structural integrity make them indispensable for chemical processing, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, sanitary, decorative and construction applications. As a certified supplier with EN 1090 credentials, ULAMEX delivers stainless steel tubing in a complete range of cross-sections, wall thicknesses and surface finishes.
We distinguish between pipe (industrial piping to NPS/DN standards) and tube (precision and ornamental tubing to OD/wall thickness specifications). Our round pipe programme covers nominal sizes from DN 8 to DN 100 in Schedule 5, 10 and 40 wall thicknesses — both seamless (nahtlos) for pressure service and welded (geschweisst) for general and decorative use. The 42.4 mm OD handrail tube is one of our most popular items, used extensively in balustrade and railing systems across Europe.
Our square tube range spans 20x20 mm to 100x100 mm, and rectangular tubes are available in profiles such as 40x20, 60x30, 60x40 and 80x40 mm. Both sections are supplied in welded construction with wall thicknesses from 1.5 mm to 4.0 mm.
Surface finish is critical for architectural and decorative projects. We offer brushed (satin/K240), ground (K320), and polished finishes alongside standard mill finish (2B). All pipes can be cut to length on request.
For buyers comparing tubular products across materials, we also supply aluminum pipes and rods — enabling direct comparison and single-source procurement. Related accessories and fittings are available in our stainless steel other products category.
Balustrades and Handrails Polished and brushed round tubes (42.4 mm, 48.3 mm) and square tubes for railing systems, staircases, balconies and glass balustrades. A major application segment in the German and European markets.
Chemical and Pharmaceutical Seamless pipes in 316L for process piping, heat exchangers and reactor vessels. Pressure-rated to Schedule 10 and 40.
Food and Sanitary Welded tubes with smooth internal surfaces for dairy, beverage and water treatment installations. Grade 304 and 316L.
Construction and Architecture Square and rectangular tubes for structural frames, facades, canopies and decorative steelwork.

Frequently Asked Questions
What stainless steel pipe sizes does ULAMEX stock?
We stock round pipes from OD 10 mm to 114.3 mm (DN 8 to DN 100) in Schedule 5, 10 and 40 wall thicknesses. Square tubes range from 20x20 mm to 100x100 mm, and rectangular tubes are available in profiles from 40x20 mm to 80x40 mm. All products are available in grades 304 (1.4301) and 316L (1.4404).
What is the difference between seamless and welded stainless steel pipe?
Seamless pipes (nahtlos) are manufactured without a weld seam, resulting in a uniform wall structure and higher pressure ratings — preferred for chemical, pharmaceutical and high-pressure applications. Welded pipes (geschweisst) are formed from strip and welded longitudinally — they offer excellent dimensional consistency and a wider range of surface finishes, making them the standard choice for structural, decorative and general piping applications.
Does ULAMEX supply handrail tube 42.4 mm?
Yes. The 42.4 mm OD stainless steel tube is one of our core products. It is the standard diameter for handrails and balustrade systems across Europe. We supply it in grade 304 (1.4301) and 316L (1.4404), with brushed (satin/K240), ground and polished surface finishes. Wall thicknesses of 2.0 mm and 2.6 mm are standard stock items.
What surface finishes are available for stainless steel tubes?
We supply stainless steel pipes and tubes in the following surface conditions: mill finish (2B — standard industrial), brushed/satin (K240 — the most popular for architectural use), ground (K320 — fine matte), and polished (mirror/Spiegelglanz — decorative). The available finish depends on the tube size and grade. Please specify the required finish when requesting a quote.
What is the difference between stainless steel pipe and tube?
In industry, "pipe" typically refers to products specified by nominal pipe size (NPS/DN) and Schedule wall thickness — used for conveying fluids and gases. "Tube" is specified by exact outside diameter and wall thickness — used for structural, mechanical and ornamental purposes. ULAMEX supplies both types, and our team can advise on the correct specification for your application.
Does ULAMEX deliver stainless steel pipes across Europe?
Yes. We deliver stainless steel pipes and tubes to customers throughout Europe, including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the UK, Scandinavia and the Benelux countries. Shipments are arranged from our warehouse in Poland, with delivery times depending on volume and destination.
Can ULAMEX cut stainless steel pipes to length?
Yes. We offer cutting to length on round, square and rectangular stainless steel tubes. Cuts are made with standard sawing tolerances. This service is available for stock items and project quantities. Please include your required lengths in your inquiry.
