A modern fence is a modular assembly of extruded aluminium profiles: posts, horizontal or vertical slats, and cross-rails, fixed together with bracket clips and self-drilling screws. There is no welding and no special tooling required on site. The result is a clean, contemporary boundary that defines a property while giving privacy, wind protection and security, and that stays maintenance-free for decades because the aluminium does not rust and the powder coating does not fade.

Material and finish

The fencing is manufactured primarily from aluminium alloy EN AW-6063 T6, the industry-standard alloy for architectural and fencing extrusions, chosen for its corrosion resistance, formability and clean anodised or powder-coated surface. Every aluminium component is powder-coated to a minimum 60 micron polyester finish, which gives UV stability, weather resistance and a maintenance-free surface for 20 years or more. For projects that need extra rigidity, ULAMEX also supplies powder-coated steel fence panels in S235JR, which share the same colour palette and mounting system as the aluminium line.

RAL colours

Both the aluminium and steel lines use the same RAL palette, so a fence, gate and posts read as one system. Anthracite RAL 7016 dominates the European market for its neutral, timeless appearance.

System components

ULAMEX supplies everything needed for a complete installation, colour-matched and from stock: system posts, horizontal or vertical slats, cross-rails, post caps, mounting brackets, self-drilling screws, base plates and gate hardware. Installation

The system is designed for modular self-assembly. Posts are set in concrete foundations or bolted to an existing wall with base plates. Slats and rails fix to the posts with bracket clips and self-drilling screws, so there is no welding and no specialist tooling on site. Detailed mounting instructions are available on request, and the technical team can advise on post spacing, panel dimensions and wind-load considerations for larger projects.

Wind load and post spacing

The wind resistance of a fence depends on slat spacing, post dimensions and foundation depth. Horizontal slat fences with gaps between the lamellae allow partial airflow, which reduces wind load compared with a solid panel. For exposed locations, ULAMEX recommends 100 x 100 mm posts with concrete foundations at a maximum spacing of 2,000 mm, and the technical team can advise on system selection for a specific wind-load zone.

Aluminium versus steel fencing

Both material lines are powder-coated and share the same colours and mounting system. Aluminium fences are lighter, fully corrosion-resistant and maintenance-free, which makes them the preferred choice for residential and architectural work.
